Was the Robin Olds book ever published?

Sun Nov 08, 2009 10:48 am

Did the book that Gen. Robin Olds was working on ever get published? What is the status, does anybody know? There are quite a few talented authors on this forum, somebody needs to take the bull by the horns and offer to get things moving if the project is stalled.
There was a great Wailing and Gnashing of teeth after his death about the indebtedness of his estate, how his mementos were going to have to be auctioned off etc. etc.
Sooo, does anybody have an update on the situation?

Looks like they are wrapping up the book and getting ready to blitz the market, out in April of 2010. Too bad they couldn't have it out for the Christmas rush, but perhaps the economy will have picked up better by then and be a better market. Here is a link to some info on the book

Isn't it his F-4?

I don't recall him being a Thud pilot.

I know he pretended to be an F-105 by hanging 105 counter-measure pods, flew in the same formation style and used their type call signs....to get the Migs to come up and play.

Randy-

Robin was an F-4 Wing Commander (jeez think about a wing king getting anywhere near shooting these days, much less leading the gaggle) when he proposed and ran Operation Bolo... simulating F-105 strikers.... got a lot of Migs that day!
