This is one of my favorites.
F4U-4 Corsair fighters assigned to U.S. Marine Corps attack squadron VMA-332 Polka-dots aboard the escort carrier USS Point Cruz (CVE-119) on 27 July 1953 shown here, during a deployment to Korea.

I am really glad you are posting these Rob. I have been reading up on all the U.S. carriers and its great to see some aircraft from those carriers. The markings and squadron designations is large and requires lots of studying!

I got a couple. The Demon was not really in the Korean War era, but here ya go by request.

these are super photos of a virtually forgotten "war" .

As a side note and no attempt to hijack this wonderful topic
I cringe when I read "conflict".
I have talked to a number of Korean War Veterans, and some of them tend to get wound up a little when that war is called a "police acion" or "conflict". I was told by one Veteran back in the 60's....H E Double tooth Picks boy.... they were shooting at us, we were shooting at them, it was a war.
Back in 1985-86, I was stationed at Hotel 310 (FCC EvenReach) in Korea for a year, 7000 Americans died around the base of that mountain during the Korean War, which could flare up again at any time, seeing how it stopped as a ceasefire,

Description says; Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat drones are launched from the port catapult of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) during the Korean War in August 1952. The F6F-5Ks were used as guided "missiles" and were guided by Douglas AD-2D Skyraider drone control planes, but the attacks produced only meagre results. Note the 407 kg (1.000 lb) bomb underneath the Hellcats. Date August 1952(1952-08)

Those half-Jeeps are start carts for the jets. The Navy nomenclature was NC-2 as I remember, and they steer with the tailwheel and drive with the front axle. The Navy used normal jeeps as tugs on some carriers during WWII.
