unidentified T-6 texan / Harvard at Greenwood Lake Airport,N

Hello,
am compiling a webreport on my US Northeast trip last month
One of the places I visited was Greenwood Lake Airport,NJ near West Milford. For
the L.Constellation there.
Also came across an all-yellow Harvard without any markings.
Called the airport but were reluctant to provide me with any details (they have
a request by email from me in consideration).
They have 'frequent' air shows here but YouTube did not feature this bird,
afaik.

Looks like a Harvard IV with gear doors and a cut down exhaust dump.

Having now the proper type identification made, it proofed to be easier to search the internet and this brought me a photolink on Air-Britain's Photographic Images Collection, identifying it as N2956 (66-2689)!
The photo shows the N-number to be on the tailrudder and that is why I could not find it.

The FAA website N-inquiry provided the following details: North American AT-6C, registered 20Dec1991 to Ronald H. Gertsen of of Kinnelon,NJ. Aircraft serial 66-2689, manufactured 1941, engine P&W1340 series.

Inquiries to Greenwood Lake Airport by phone about this matter brought evasive response and emails were not replied to.

Well actually, it's a Harvard Mk II, ex RCAF 2956 (hence the N-number). Not sure why it's registered as a AT-6C, since US owners usually try to pass off Noordyun-built Mk IIB's as AT-6's in an attempt to get them standard category registered versus experimental. As 2956 was built by North American, this wouldn't be a problem.

This plane threw me off before when I was trying to ID it as it is fitted with Harvard Mk 4 wingtips (nav lights on the outer tips vs just inboard on the upper and lower wing for the Mk II) and because of the wingtip lights I thought the tailwheel looked to be 12.5"(as on the Mk 4), but looking at it now, it seems to be a 10" wheel.

Anywho, enough of my droning on. Glad you were able to ID it.
