Taras, can we assume that this is the next aircraft you are going to recover?

BTW, fantastic job on the Hellcat! I and I'm sure others, would love for you to start a new thread and give us a detailed summary of the Hellcat recovery. How did it go, what were you technical problems, concerns, how did expectations meet reality, etc. That is of course, if you have time! :D

Thanks anyway for participating on our forum, regardless!

Qualified June 43 and died November 43.

Two incidents in Corsair - Lake Michigan crash and loss?

The punch bowl in Hawaii opened on 5th Jan 49 bringing in WWII casualties from a number of locations. Carl H Johnson was interneed on the 10Th Jan, so one of the first ones.

Service number is a good start.

1920 Census - Family and Siblings.
From Cook, Sac? Iowa?
Jos Johnson 2
Alice A Johnson 32
Carl H Johnson 1 11/12
Ernest R Johnson 5/12
Hilmore Linquist 16

1930 Census - Family and Siblings.
Seems the two sons Carl and Ernest became stepsons though the mothers name has changed - Alice to Auguste?

Mila J Walin 39
Auguste A Walin 42
Carl H Johnson 12
Ernest R Johnson 10

Best chance is to try and find Ernest R Johnson? - 89 years old??

Would be good to know which unit he flew with?

Taras

As per my email to you - thought I would put it on the web as it is always good is someone does a google on their family etc.

Seems I have found a bit more info - Fallen WWII Navy Personnel.

Carl Harold Johnson Ensign USNR
NOK Mr & Mrs Gustaf S E Johnson 45 Foundation Road, Arlington. Boston.

Went through every state and half way got to Massachusetts!

Ens Carl H Johnson seems to fit. Trouble is I cannot find father/son on a 1920 or 1930 census yet?

Anyone got any better search ideas. Anyone from Arlington/Boston?

Will probably do family tree/geneaology/newspaper/obits etc.

Seems like it is a start at least.

Mark
