It was a Hanna Barbera (MGM at the time) single short. Much like how Merry Melodies (Looney Toons) was back in the 40's and 50's.
It was called "Little Johnney Jet"

and before that-'Clutch Cargo' who flew a big Fairchild 71. The animation trick was in all the mouth movement cells for dialogue, the open mouth wasn't painted and the cells were filmed over a moist piece of liver giving sort of the impression of a tongue-anyone got an appetite?

Clutch flew a Bellanca Airbus...unless I missed the Fairchild in an early episode. The animation
technique is called Synchro-Vox, revived in recent years by the Conan Obrian show. Governor
Ahnold and the Lisa Marie Presley/Michael Jackson post-honeymoon interview were noteable hoots!

Mike Da' Mustang...very cool..Thanks!!

"Jay Jay the Jet Plane" was his name....I loved that show. My daughter and I used to watch that on PBS when she was just a little thing. The creater of "Jay Jay" and PBS got into some sort of Pissing Match as I recall and the show was canceled.
"Mike DA Mustang" is awesome. The first episode is right up there with "Jay Jay" but with way better aircraft! I was really excited yesterday to get home and show it to my 2 1/2 year old son. He LOVED it (of course)!
The guys at ASB did a great job....I hope there are many more episodes in the future.

Well..maybe your right. He started in an Airbus but in a season 2 episode, "Bush Pilots", I saw on youtube
today he was in something not Bellanca. Have a look!

I thought the new cartoon from ASB was outstanding! I am thoroughly impressed. My son is a little too young still, but I am anxiously awaiting when he can enjoy it!
