Interesting photos. The pic of Estes looks like it was made for a "Buy War Bonds!" or similar poster.

Do you have any more pics of SNC-1 Falcons? They're an interesting looking aircraft. Haven't read or ever heard too much about them before.

That is a Curtiss-Wright CW-22 only the Navy version.

Neat photos. Wonder if there are more WW2 era photos taken at Texas airfields out there....Would be neat to see some of Ellington Field and Carswell......Think Carswell was called Tarrant Field at that time and Consolidated was rolling out B-24s...

Very cool pictures! Thank you for sharing those! I spent my childhood near CRP and spent many days fishing near the old PBY ramps. In the 18+ years of living there...I never saw pictures like these. Thanks again for sharing..

A Navy Buddy of mine was stationed at CC on Mine Sweeps, USS Scout IIRC


I always thought it was neat at some the Navy bases I was at to see the old Seaplane ramps. NAS Pensacola and NAS Norfolk come to mind.
