Pleasant Surprises

Sat Dec 19, 2009 6:47 pm

Yesterday, I dropped my Son Charles off at Lamar in southeast Colorado, where he began his trip to ride his motorcycle to South America. On the way back into Denver on I-70, just as it comes into town, I noticed a sign that said TUSKEGEE AIRMEN MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. I had never seen this before, don't know when it was put in, but it is a nice tribute.

Today I went out to the Boulder Airport, and to my surprise there was Ted Hine and a lot of the folks from the Denver area, Mile High Wing of the CAF. They were having their monthly meeting and did it at Boulder. Good to see lot's of them, I used to be an active member, and still of course am a CAF life member.

Have to look for that on my way home from Granby over the X mas holiday, Bill. Did'nt know Ted Hine was still around, remember him from YEARS ago with the Colorado CAF wing.

Fished your neck of the woods this summer, up on the Frying Pan this summer, even the Roaring river in Aspen, first time I'd been back since the last Aspen air show....kinda fun to fish the river while all the air traffic was coming in over us....no Spitfires in the pattern tho unfortunately....least not while I was there.
