65 years ago today B-17's were bombing Regensburg.

Image
Caption reads:
A string of bombs head for the already burning target as Boeing B-17s of the 15th Air Force attacked the oil storage facilities at Regensburg, Germany, on 28 Dec 1944. The Fortresses scored hits on storage tanks, distillation plant, and rolling stock in an adjacent railyard. The Forts have been successfully smashing German oil sources in central Europe.
