between the the allied & axis warbirds of ww 2 what country had the best & most versatile camouflage paint schemes for their aircraft, & why??

as the first voter to this thread i'd say japan because the inclement conditions of the pacific theater only enhanced the blending of the paint to the physical terrain. i'd say italy comes 2nd for originality.

Without doubt that was Soviets. First at all they have very adoptable camouflage pattern and as well they fought over various area, in this way they have various pattern very closed to the landscape. Best at all they give from 1943 with grey blue schemes for fighters and new three tone patterns for attack and bomber airplanes. But as all other air forces, they also suffer from large national insignia and that was definitely wife off all of the values of the applied camouflage.

My vote goes to the Italians for complexity, diversity, and just the pure art of their schemes. Pretty much everyone elses camo looked like it was put on with a broom and demonstrated little forethought beyond 'paint it some sorta green I guess'.
