You won't be seeing any of this on the History Channel:

YEP! Now I can blow right past the listing without even stopping. It would appear that the channel is appropriately named 'History'. I tried watching AX Men, and made it to nearly the first commecial, just what I was looking for, the Tuttles with chainsaws. I'd rather watch that lisping Bear Grills chew the butt off a musk ox.

I am sad to hear that the Channel is further going down hill with unrealistic reality based shows. Bring back Dogfights and Mailcall and early Saturday morning war movies. We don't need this channel to be popular by punk kids that think we never landed on the moon!

Geeze, substitute reality shows about logging for History on the History Channel....are we not dumb enough? Most kids couldnt tell you when WW2 actually took place, they only know who won........if that!

There has GOT to be a petition website somewhere!!???!?!?!?

You know, I went to their website to try and contact them with MY feelings about that misnamed channel. There is no way to contact them listed on the site. Even the contact link only takes you to the FAQ page. Unreal! No wonder they think they're doing great because no one can contact them in order to tell them otherwise.

Wow! And the dumbing down of America reaches a new high! She should have her research dig a little deeper into the sales of vinyl records...all time high right now.

When she changed the name from the History Channel, she blew it, dropped the wrong half of the name. She should just call it "Channel". :butthead:

Yeah, the History Channel ceased being about History long ago. Ice Road losers, bitchy LumberJacks who can't get along, and now Pawn shop Jackals; how low will the producers and programmers stoop?

Back in the mid 1990s, when I first purchased what was then called the History Channel, the programming was pretty good. World War I history with the Arch Duke, Sophie and the assassin Precipe, The Young Hitler I knew and the SS and a US Air Force in which Curtis LeMay was a member. All long gone. I used to call it the "Hitler Channel", as others have. The forum member is right: The History Channel is history.

TonyM.

I still miss the Discovery Wings Channel.

I have it from a good friend who participated in some
of the Dogfights episodes that a new management team
is in place. They are intent on moving the channel away
from military history subjects and toward reality themed
shows like ax-men and ice road truckers.

The Military Channel is doing some good stuff, but I
too miss the History Channel material. They did a good
job while it lasted......

Must be the same bean counters that took over the management of Delta Scarelines

Well,

after a little bit of googling and poking around I figured out that History Channel is owned by the A&E company.... and I found their feedback e-mail address from their corporate site.

feedback@aetv.com

Let the e-mails fly!!!!

Peace,

David

History, VH1, Discovery, AandE, they've all jumped the shark and moved away from what they once were. Most of the time don't have to worry about what's on tv anymore. Thankfully, every once in awhile, there's great stuff like Hitler's Bodyguard on Military Channel and the Nova show on the midget subs last Tuesday and Ultimate Factories. There's just not enough of shows like this. Then there's the idiots at NBC trying to fix stuff that isn't broken, like moving Leno to ten oclock and Conan to 1130 now trying to cut both shows to 30 minutes and move them back to 1135 and 1205...oh god...idiots. Tv totally sucks!

I don't see what the big surprise is. Could anyone NOT know that the History Channel was going down hill after cancelling "Dogfights" and replacing it with "Ice Road Truckers". Between that and their shows on UFO's, Bigfoot, and "end of world prophets", it's been pretty clear what direction they have elected to go for the past 3 to 4 years.

BTW, I used to be a frequent member and poster on the "Dogfights" forum on the History Channel website before it went under. Believe me, there were so many negative threads about the direction that HC was going that they began to HEAVILY censor their forum and delete any posts with a negative tone. During the peak, I counted at least 10 posts a day which were censored due to their negativity towards the History Channel.

The "new" head of HC, Nancy Dubuc, even started a thread on the "Dogfights" forum. Within a day or so, it had about 8 or 9 pages of negative comments about the History Channel programming and the direction they were going. Nancy acknowledged all of the negativity and basically said she was sick of hearing about it. The next day, the entire thread and every post that she wrote had been deleted.

That "Dogfights" forum was the absolute WORST one I have ever participated in. It was EXTREMELY censored and not in a good way. It didn't matter that you didn't use any profanity, generate any personal attacks against anyone, or violate any of the forum rules, if you wrote anything even remotely negative about the History Channel, your post was deleted. It was very, very sad, because I felt like I was in a repressed, Communist internet site, with all of the unwarranted and unfair censoring they were doing over there. That experience turned me off so much that I will never, ever join any History Channel forum ever again.

It was brutally obvious over there, that the History Channel didn't give a damnn about what people thought about their programming. :(

my brief little message was just sent

Greetings,
Wake up and smell the coffee.
What??? is going on at the History Channel?
Please go Back to History, and create a new reality channel for the Ice Road Truckers
the axe men, and all that other crap that has taken over the programming.
There is plenty of "history" for you to have a great History Channel.
There is plenty of crap out there to have a great Crap Channel

Yet another example of the fruits of the U.S. public 'educational' system...it's becoming scary.
It is essential that the 'elites' keep us occupied with the Teutels, drunken lumberjacks and pawn brokers.
Then you won't care or notice...while they stealthily take away your rights, plus tax and regulate you to death.

God, what would happen if people actually KNEW some American history?
They would very likely be able to spot a political scam lots easier, plus smell the rats sooner.
And the 'ruling class' certainly doesn't want to deal with that-or an educated electorate.
It might impede their 'Progressive' plans for us.
