Mystery fighter in Angaur jungle

Identified as a Corsair, but I would guess it might be one of the Night-Cats based on Peleliu. I assume from the website that it was found in 2005.

Looks like the direct link to the picture didn't work. Click the link, then type Angaur corsair in the search box, and that will work. The jungle certainly preserved the paint well.

The "bars" became official on 29 June, 1943, with the red surround until the middle of August.

If you click on the Yahoo link to the Angaur Corsair, it definitely shows a Corsair

Could it be a P-51A or A-36? I am not finding any good specifics on how that engine to prop set up works
