Where else should I be looking for Douglas rudder pedals?

Wed Apr 20, 2005 12:01 am

I am looking for a complete Skyraider (or compatible Douglas) rudder pedal assembly to add dual controls to my AD5 bu 135178. I would appreciate any leads about where to continue the search. Also are any other rudder pedal assemblies interchangeable? A26, DC3 etc?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Eric!

I wish I had your problem! :D

Seriously though, a thought occured to me. There might be some Vietnam AD5 and 6's happening in the future. The pictures I have from my books and magazines showed the planes in kinda hard shape. I think the last pictures I saw were from 92 maybe. They are restoreable, almost anything is, but, what I guess I'm getting at is, I think some of those planes are going to become parts sources. Are you up for a south east asia vacation? A part is easier than the whole plane to get back. Setter, AKA, John Parker, might have a line on the possibility of Vietnam AD parts.

Rudder Pedals and Linkage

PM me with parts numbers and I might be able to help. Have you tried Jay Wisler? Problem with rudder pedals is they just don't wear out. The linkages break, so they should be out in repair form. But the pedals themselves are another matter. You might wind up using another type of pedal. Going to Oshkosh? If so, good place to link up with people who might be able to help you.
