Florida DC-3s

Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:58 pm

I'm new to florida (orlando area) and was wondering if there are any DC-3s here. I know that there are the onces that Missionary Flights International use out of Fort Pierce, Kermit Weeks' gate guard, the one abandoned in the everglades and the DAK the Prarie Musuem recently sold to someone in Marathon Key, FL. Are there any others and does anyone have details of the one in Marathon Key?

Here is a place holder location dossier for the group that has the DC-3 in Marathon...

...I say "place holder" since I only have an approximate location and I don't know if they accept visitors. If anyone can provide details that would be great.

I have started an airframe dossier for their DC-3...
ImageAerial Visuals - Airframe Dossier - Douglas R4D-3, s/n 05078 USN, c/r N763A
...I am working on the history of the airframe so hopefully more details to come.

As for DC-3s in Florida, you should always first go to the Locator...
ImageAerial Visuals - Locator
...actually this tool is good for looking up any aircraft type in any political region (just one search combination of many that you can do). For a list of where to find DC-3s in Florida go here for my search results...

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
