T-28C VT-5 Crash 1963

Wed May 04, 2005 1:55 pm

Thought ya'll might like to see these views of a VT-5 T-28C crash from May 1963. This is BuNo 140555 from Vt-5 at Pensacola. If memory serves me correct the cause of FOD binding the controls in some way.

Ouch! I hope the lad recovered from that mess! Great archival stuff Jack!

note the variation of the training command paint scheme. The red or insignia orange runs along the bottom of the fuselage very cool. It would be nice to see a restored T-28 like this.

Yup, it would be a nice color-scheme of distinction. Looks like the orange/
red also covers the vert. fin/rudder..note the white patch behind the 6288,
but of course your looking at the original.

As for the archival aspects...it would make an excellent diorama for the modelers..plowed dirt, broken fuse, firetruck, multi-angle documentation,
etc...
