This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Concerning the futur of the Pink Lady:
The "last, last" info red from the french magasin "Le fana de l'aviation", who included an explanation writed by the owner of the plane said that the current plan is:
- build a hangar to store her in good condition and display her in the museum.
- try to create a team of volunteers to perform a massive overhaul and if everything will go in the correct way the plane could flight again in "8 years"
Of course, there are a lot of variables involved, and it's impossible to predict the futur.. (and a lot of rumors...)
Always according the owner (who is also the owner of the airfield of la Ferté-Alais), the runway is now registred with a enough length to allow the B-17 to take-off with some restriction:low fuel, etc (as I understand in a similar way the Berlin Airlift Foundation is allowed to use the runways of Floyd Bennet two times a year)

Great news about the update.
Scott, you do the aviation community a great service.
The B-17 deserves someone to keep up with its various comings and goings...and you do a great job.
