This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Heard a rumor the other day a very rare airplane that has rarely flown and never been to Oshkosh will be there for the week baring any mechanical issues. Any guesses as to what it is?

This brings up a good point- I am curious to hear what other rumors are floating around re: OSH10.
Any word on SpaceShipTwo? Is the Russell Group going to be there? And I think we're all crossing our fingers for Fifi.

Okay so from the process of deduction we can assume its somthing that was produced in numbers (even if it was a small batch) at one time and now has become rare. It is rarely flown so that means it was either restored to flying some time ago, has always been flyable, or has just completed a restoration/ maintenance to fly again.
My gut wants to believe it's something larger, like a 3 or 4 engined aircraft but maybe not. My second guess would be something smaller, maybe 1920's - 1930's Golden Age era. But that might not be right either. Retracing my pattern back to idea of the aircraft being rare, this doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be old. It could be an old design reproduced in even a smaller batch. And since this is a warbird forum (mostly WWII warbirds more than anyother) my uneducated guess would have to be:

Has POF taken any aircraft to AirVenture in recent years? I remember seeing Steve with GG, but I don't recall ever seeing anything from POF
