I check out the FAA site everyday, & it really hits home when it IS someone you know or a customer. I want you to make it a point for me NOT see anything you are flying on there!!!!

Yeah that's the goal. Everytime I land anything (T-6, L-5, etc.), Im paranoid some WIXer is out there and has a camera or 3G coverage. Sometimes these things aren't something people want other people to know about / critique. My rule to go by is that if someone wants us to know about it, they'll bring it up. Nothing personal, just my 2 cents.

This was no secret accident, it made headline news in Oklahoma City yesterday, with pictures of the wrecked T-28. you can search their local news and find it there.

I can understand why some folks would want to try to keep certain airplane
accidents / incidents a secret (like groundlooping a taildragger for example) but
aviation is a small world, news travels fast, and trying to keep things secret
seems like an exercise in futility....

Then there can always be something learned from every airplane accident /
incident (no matter what the type, where it happened, or who the pilot
was). I look at the FAA prelim accident run every day, if for no other reason,
than to make note of which types of aircraft tend to have which types of
accidents / incidents, and to perhaps make note of particular incidents that
I think I might be able to learn something from (by following up on what
happened after the NTSB does their thing).

In any event, I try to treat every flight operation like the whole world is watching
(sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't!).

Its like car racing, people go to airshow to watch for a wreck. Nobody watches until you land a little short...

I don't know about that Lynn. I've seen two crashes, both fatal, and I really don't care to EVER see another one. I want to see a bunch of planes flying safely with plenty of margin for error.

I'll second that. I've seen one fatal crash up close and I don't want to ever see it again, either. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy being at the airport watching aircraft shoot landings. I also am known to carry around a camera... but not for morbid purposes.
