Just saw in a post over on AAFO that the Leewards are planning to get the Grumman Guardian back in the air and touring the country. I would absolutely love to see the Guardian and wish them the best of luck with the old girl. Bring it to Reno!

Sweet! Hope it works out for them!

Hey Chad. Having worked on the CAF Az Wing Guardian for years, all I can say is OH YEAH!!!!!!!SWEET

I hear you Chris! Judging from the lack of replies it may not be everybody's cup of tea but, for me, this is some very exciting news. By the way, I would still love to take you up on your offer to shoot the CAF Guardian at some point if we can work out the logistics. (And the offer is still on the table of course!)

Exciting indeed, and I, for one am up to see as many rarer and unusual types restored as possible.
Catch is, you really need to restore two Guardians, to have the full 'Hunter and Killer' set. What do you mean 'one thing at a time'?

JDK, I think that would be kick A**. Since we don't have the weapon bay doors for ours, we would be the natural to be the Hunter. Unfortunately, since it isn't a P-51 or Corsair, no one wants to put a dime into it. It's like the MiG15 I'm working on at the Az Wing. It's currently being restored to static condition financed by the Bank of Chris.

It's Jimmy Leeward's Guardian, probably the last one left in the world in flying condition. Here is the Air Ranch:
