#3 was planned from the outset to be a static display only example it was never intended to be flown-

Exciting to hear a 262 will be based on the East Coast. Jerry Yagen has consistently been expanding his museum collection for quite some time now. It never ceases to amaze me how many flyable aircraft he keeps obtaining for his ever growing squadron down there. Cant wait to see pictures of the new buildings.

I think I remember hearing that the first of the 5 airframes was to "cut the restoration / production crew's teeth on". Hence I suppose that the majority of the airframe was built as static only. I guess with enough work and money, anything can be made to fly. Either way Mr. Yagen will make sure whatever is part of his museum will be done to the highest expectations and quality. What Im more concerned about is a 262 operating off a grass strip.

Holy crap, I cannot tell you how freakin' awesome this is... as a certified Luftwaffe nut and resident of Hampton Roads, it's like having my very own personal Fairey Godfather over in Va Beach, bringing all this awesome hardware to his facility.

Yes, I think I'm gonna be stoked for the rest of the day on this news.
