Never thought a B-17 could steal the show, but it did!

Very nice pics. I always love seeing Moonbeam, & S.J. (got to fly with the Arizona Wing guys in S.J. back in the early 80's).

Wonderful images. That B-17 looked resplendant in the late afternoon sun. The aluminum just glowed.
Thank you,
VL

No Vlado, thank YOU for bringing the Mustang to Dubuque, and for the low passes. That has to be one challenging box to have to play in?

THAT was indeed a challenging show box.
Because there was no runway for line-up, everyone had to use 3 small boats in the center river for line-up references. Then......at the end of the box.....the river bends!! Now come on!!! I was just lined up with center-river and then the river took a TURN!! Sheesh!! Low sun angles, the hills to the east & those 2 big antennas all contributed to a real mind game on keeping positioning. Albeit, it sure was fun and a pretty place to fly.
(Sometimes, I just can't believe I get to skim the waters at high speed make tight turns, zoom past one river bank to the other, then pull up for a victory roll........all legal and approved by the FAA. If I was at some remote part of the state and doing just the same flying.......phones would promptly be ringing at the nearby FSDO.)
Great pix.........enjoy seeing the light at different angles on these shiney aliminum birds. Thx.

I can't help but note the awkward juxtapostion of the Destin thread so close to this one.
Apologies to those affected.
