The Bassingbourn Sign is 48 inches long, and weighs in at around 7 pounds!! This sign was brought back by a WW2 B-17 crew member after the war. Since the Belle was in the 8th AF stationed in Bassingbourn, I figured the sign was appropriate above the Belle stuff. The Belle that is flying above the others next to the print is signed by the late Col Robert Morgan. I found that he was living in Asheville N.C. a few years ago so I emailed him, and asked if he would sign my plane. He said he would be glad to, so I made a 700 mile trip to Asheville, and he signed the plane. I also have his B-29 Dauntless Dotty in 1/48th scale sitting under the Belle area as a Memorial to Col Morgan and his contribution to his country during the War.
