Ryan, your helmet should be there any day now.I hope you like it, anyway the price is about 10% of a new one.
It does have a lot of years in Spitfires, also some in other warbirds, T-6, P-51, etc. It doesn't have jet or T-28 time. It also may have some liberal ideas in it, may whisper in your ear.
Good luck, if you like it put a photo on WIX.

Bill, I don't know if you saw this or not, but he already received it:

I did post over there hoping you'd see it. My hours have been pretty weird lately so didn't call. Have been pretty busy flying, and at a conference the next couple of days. The helmet has been airborne five times already and is greatly appreciated. I did see the message on the back of the helmet. I doubt it will whisper too many thoughts into my head...
I've gotten several comments about wearing it in the Skyhawks, but at this point, the simple reduction in fatigue from the helmet vs. the standard headset is worth the comments.
Thanks again. I hope it will never be put to the test!

Ryan, the little bumper sticker on the back was a last minute touch , and had to be homemade as I didn't have the real one.
I thought you might get a laugh out of it, and it does give some class to the hat.

I thought that was probably just for me... I did sort of chuckle, but you should remember that I'm of a different camp altogether - not Repub. or Demo.
Just a joke here: I thought that the name was about the same class as the scrap paper it was written on. Again, that's just a joke. I think I like him and his predecessor about equally.
On a serious note, here's what I'm thinking of doing... I'm thinking that soon I'll try to repaint it a mid-to-dark gray with a Texas flag on the side, or something similar to the new business card I'm using (see below).

Then... and this is a big project... I'm thinking of working with my sisters on an idea I had. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be possible to obtain some leather, figure up some dimensions to cover the helmet, sew it up to look like an old helmet installing snaps for the three-snap visor location and a hook for the back to keep it on, and do my own "vintage" style cover for the helmet. Then, for flights with the Alamo Liaison Squadron it would look like a more vintage style helmet like the one's Taylor wants, and could revert to the dark gray for business flights.
