Warbird Depot August Desktop Calendars

The August 2010 Desktop Calendars and Wallpapers are now available from the Warbird Depot website ( http://www.warbirddepot.com/desktop_calendars.asp ), this month includes:

1. Paul Hughan flying a Fokker Dr.1 Triplane, one of seven Dr.1s operated by The Vintage Aviator Limited and painted in the markings of an unknown pilot from Jasta 11.The photo was taken over the white bluffs in Marlborough enroute to its home base in Masterton, New Zealand following Classic Fighters 2007.

2. Cavanaugh Flight Museum’s Curtiss P-40N Warhawk (S/N: 44-7369), being flown by Mike Burke, over Geneseo, NY at the 2007 Geneseo Airshow.

3. Jim Beasley Jr. flying the rare N.A. P-51C Mustang “Princess Elizabeth” over West Chester County, PA. This warbird is now owned by the Freidkin family.

4. Chris Prevost flying his N.A. SNJ-4 Texan (26755 / N7078C), with ground crewman Dave Mace in the backseat, over Sonoma County, CA.

5. Ray Deickman and Randy Sherman flying the Lyon Air Museum's Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress "Fuddy Duddy" during a Warbirds International photo shoot at the 2010 Planes of Fames Airshow in Chino, CA.

6. DH 82 Tiger Moth “Tiger 43” in the sky overhead Rangitata Island in Sough Canterbury, New Zealand. The aircraft is owned by Russell Brodie and is seen in the capable hands of Ryan Southam.

7. Mark Watt rounding pylon 4 in the Sanders family’s 4,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-4360 powered Hawker Sea Fury T.20 "Dreadnought" at the 2010 Pylon Racing Seminar in Reno, NV where he received his Unlimited Class racing license.

8. Anders Saether departing Flying Legends 2008 in the Scandinavian Historic Flight’s N.A. P-51D Mustang “Old Crow” at Duxford Airfield, UK. It is painted in the markings of Col. Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson of the 357th Fighter Group, 363rd Fighter Squadron.

9. John Paul Jr. flying the Warhawk Air Museum’s Curtiss P-40N Warhawk at the 2009 National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV. This year’s races will be held on September 15-19.

10. Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield taking off in Vintage Wings of Canada’s Canadair Sabre 5 “Hawk One” (RCAF # 23314) at the 2009 Windsor International Airshow.

11. Russian State Transport Co. Ilyushin IL-96-300 RA-96016 arriving at Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport for the 2010 G8 / G20 Summit.

12, Taking off in full afterburner from runway 03L at Nellis AFB, Nevada, Rockwell B-1B 86-0095 is one of 3 that participated in Red Flag 09-2 and is from the 28th Bomb Wing based at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. The B-1 has proven to be a valuable asset in the war in Afghanistan, as it can loiter for long periods without refuelling from a tanker, and using the new Lockheed Martin Sniper Pod which is externally mounted, the B-1 can drop Precision Guided Weapons (PGM) on suspected Taliban targets.

All Desktop Calendars and Wallpapers are now available in 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 1600x1200 and 1280x1024. These are the main screen resolutions. We have provided a Screen Resolution Compatibility list on the webpage that shows what other formats apply to each of these resolutions so you can apply the correct resolution for your computer screen. A link to the webpage that outlines the instructions for loading any of the desktop calendar or wallpaper selections is located at the bottom of the page.
