Wow, looks like a lot of love is being given to FiFi. She should look great for the airshow season!

Hi All,
WOW ! Looks like FiFi is getting some major structural upgrade as well. Looks like quite abit of sheet metal is being replaced. Nice to see that the CAF's flagship is being well taken care of.

With the attention it seems to be getting around the bomb bay, I wonder if they're just getting around to fixing the tornado damage.

wonder what there going to for nose tires????? Our N3N uses the same size and we used to have a set with the block tread patern.. But due to weather cracking, we could not chance using them anymore and went to a diamond tread. We miss the look of the block tread.

Awesome!
Along with the Lanc, the B-29 is my favourite multi-engine bird.
How cool would it be to have one in my hangar, eh!

It also looks like they are fixing the tail guns on her. I can't wait to Thunder Over MI

To answer a few of your questions. We are using diamond tread tires for the nose. As far as the bomb bay area, The door hinge actuator bracket was damaged and a new casting was fabricated and installed shortly after the damage was found.

I've seen this beautiful bird fly quite a lot over the years. While we all rest assured knowing "Enola Gay" and "Bock's Car" are safely preserved and sitting in museums, we know full well they're both basically dead, "FiFi" lives and should for as long as conditions permit.
Congratulations are certainly in order for the C.A.F. for securing her long ago and to all the volunteers and financial donations it takes to keep her in the air where she belongs.

I agree! Hopefully FiFi will be joined in the near future by Doc to allow even more warbird fans to enjoy these fine aircraft.
