Actually a U.S. Navy Spitfire (of VCS-7.) It just looks like it is RAF.

Bovines are airworthy
1st 2 P-47s look airworthy
The others I would say are Grounded

Cool photo.
Must have been one of a few safe places to put a damaged A/C down near the front lines at that point.

Looks like 42-25904 is tied to MACR 8500 on Aug. 17, 1944 (just a month after the photo was taken). Pilot Arthur C. Davis KIA over Bernay, France. As stated before 50th FG, 81st FS
