:( Isn't it funny that they sold there former P-47 to Rod Lewis, now only to buy HJ? I fear that this Thunderbolt wont get out much now while it resides at Tillamook. I hope Im wrong and they keep some of the planes on active flying status and take them to shows.

Dang - I was really hoping HJ would stay in the midwest. Oh well....

And maybe come East? Would have been kinda cool to see the Millville Army Museum acquire this bird and operate it alongside Duffy's No Guts No Glory. That would have been something.

It's happening sometime next year! The Chris and Zack Show are hitting the road for points west. Tillamook is definitely on the destination list!

They do fly the aircraft from time to time, but the postings on the page may be deceptive. The photos of the PBY flying are from 12 years ago at the 1998 Sea & Sky Fest at NAS Whidbey Island. I don't think it's flown recently, and the last time I was down there (about a year ago) it was in the 'tent', but missing some parts.

warbird kid:

i'm sure you know this but millville operates all of those birds, essentially because and only because of Mr. Duffy. i don't think they have the capital to operate a bird on their own.

and i don't think he would have bought it since...

he just got a P-51D! anyone have pics of the new paint scheme?
