Wasn't that the one restored by Me262 project, which allowed them to copy it for the new-build examples?

I think that's the one. My memory is it would be used for
patterns in exchange for a restoration job. Where is it now?

The DVHAA has her in a nice little building aboard NAS Willow Grove JRB that houses her (the picture from the post above). They have a nice little collection of aircraft a little outside Philadelphia.

What ever happened to the Me-262 that was at PAX river??

Was there a Me-262 at PAX (other than for testing after the war)? I know Willow Grove has had one for many, many years (the one restored by the company building replicas), but am unaware of a 262 ever being on display at PAX. The Warbirds directory states that Wk.Nr.110639 has been on display at Willow Grove since 1946 (after being tested at PAX). Did any other 262's go to PAX? I'm very interested to hear.

It might have been Willow Grove where it was displayed.
I know it was at PAX for a time as my late friend Cook
Cleland had time in it for evaluation. I remember him
telling me it was so much better than the P-59 there
was no comparison.

Hi Owen... must have been an interesting conversation! Yes, the same 262 was at PAX in 45/46 for evaluation. It might be the one that Cleland flew, but there might have been others too. I do know that the remains of an Arado 234 (and other priceless gems such as the Bell Airabonita) lie under the runway near the water.

I've seen pics of both the tail of the Ar-234 and the inverted carcass of the Airabonita sticking out of the riverbank taken as late as the 1980s. Granted, they were corroded junk, but it's still amazing they haven't been recovered.

What happened to the NAS Willow Grove Ar-196? I think I recall hearing it's in storage at the Naval Air Museum.

Yep, the AR-196 is in Pensacola.
