B-25 Wreckage ID Help Needed

Sun Sep 05, 2010 1:08 pm

Attention B-25 experts. I came across this photograph on the http://www.ww2incolor.com website. I would like to try and Identify the B-25 and give names back to those Service Members lost in the crash. Any help would be appreciated.

CAUTION: The picture is a grim reminder of the reality of War, then and now.

Looks to be a C or D model with tan paint. The sleeve appears to be rolled up as well.North Africa or Italy due to the earlier model 25.

I'm almost positive I've seen that nose art on a 321st BG B-25C; will need to go through my files to see if I can dig it up again. If that is the case, I'll be able to track down names for you.

So what does the picture tell us?

Does it look like the Service Member is wearing a "Mae West"?

No Armor plate?

Lost on the ship's 55th Mission?
