Why did this aircraft look like this, when and for how long? As I don't recall when I took it or if I ever found anything out, I'll let Mike play, and the answers may only get tested by credibility...

Looks like RAF north African dark earth/middlestone over light blue. Why a Sea Fury would be painted that way is beyond me. Maybe just the owner's preference, or possibly for a movie?

It is Hawker Fury G-BTTA when in the ownership of the Hanna's Old Flying Machine Co, and when painted in Iraqi Air Force colours - but on this occasion, those colours have been modified by the addition of RAF roundels and fin flash.

I'm not sure one can get ordinary points feeding back my own writing... Certainly a point for chutzpah.

The question here though, as against what I said over on Key is 'Why did this aircraft look like this, when and for how long?'

One of those has been postulated in the thread on Key, but not the others...

Yup! That's about the size of it. The fun of forums is you can never predict what the response is going to be.

However it's the weekend, and people closer to interesting aviation events than me will be out playing ~ but back in the oh, so boring office on Monday. Then we'll see what eventuates.
