Excellent photo's of the Lanc "airborne". And a perfect 3 point landing also. Now, I have what may seem like a real dumb question. But, where is this Lancaster located and what are the long term plans for the old girl ?? Dare I ask if the word airworthy is in her future ? Or is she destined for indoor restoration and static display ?

The Lanc was located in Jackson Park, a public garden, in Windsor, Ontario. Peter's group will be carrying out a restoration to static condition I believe. However if I remember correctly they are planning to be able to do engine runs. Am I correct Peter?

She will be open for tours(guided) for the next 2 weeks so if anyone wants a chance to look inside a RCAF Lanc in original 60s service condition then drop into the Park in WIndsor and have a look. After the 2 weeks are up, her outer wings and engines will be removed and she will be further dismantled for storage in a building south of her old position for a year before going into the new hangar at the airport.

I get the impression that she will be moved by road on her own gear (outer wings removed). Is that correct?

Yes the landing gear is in excellent shape and they will tow her over to the other side of the park for storage
