F4U Corsair info needed - please help!

You will find that the F4U-4 engine bay is significantly different to the F4U-1 engine bay. The oil tank in particular is very different. I'll see if I can find something for you.

Richard....that looks like that 'all white' Corsair that came out a number of years ago and did some flying before it went into the paint shop....would I be correct?

Dunno if Mike has revamped it yet, but we plan on having blueprints also for detailed study at www.f4ucorsair.com...might check that and see what you find.

You are correct Mark... it's FG-1D Bu.67070. I think it's owned by Rod Lewis now. Looking forwards to the blueprints!

We have been working on the Web Site www.F4UCorsair.com and have Totally ReVamped the web site with info a lot of new photos, Updated Current Corsairs. The site will be up soon, we are still finishing the Updates. Mike has did a Total Redo on the site.

the engine mounts are mostly the same, you will find different electrical connections on the Firewall with each model..the Cockpits where different and stuff moved around in the inside. You will find most Oil Tanks the same, but you will find different Hydraulic Tanks where used in the -1, -4, -5. There are little difference on the firewall not anything major. Same Oil Lines, Fuel Lines, you will find different Exhaust set ups on the -1, -4, -5, some different Carb stuff set up as well. Hope this answers some things for you.
