This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hi folks - long time reader, first time poster from Scotland !
I am coming to Texas in February and while in San Antonio
I was hoping to get up close and personal with Glacier Girl
(since she failed to make it over the Ocean to see me a couple
of summers ago!)
Does anyone have contact details for the owner of this P38?
Seems a shame to come so far and NOT get to see her at home!
Cheers!

I know some of the Lewis crew. I don't know that you'll be able to contact Mr. Lewis directly, but it should be possible to work something out. Send me an email (not PM) and I'll see how I can help.

Yes if GG is off to the left coast there would only be some dozen or so other magnificant warbirds to view in SA!
Fri Dec 31, 2010 4:33 pm
Would be a shame if GG wasn't in town . . especially when I was in Chino
in September and didn't go hunting for her !!! (time was short...!)
I know of the FW190 in San Antonio & the new museum at Dallas Love Field.
Did the collection at Meacham Field two years ago too which was nice
but I am always open for more !!!
Itinerary is Dallas, to Del Rio, to San Antonio, to Corpus Christi and then
to Houston before flying back to the UK. Time is tight but I am always
open to hunting down a warbird !!!

What about Addison(Cavanaugh)

Thats just up the road if your flying into Love Field or even DFW.
From Dallas to Del Rio(what the heck's down there

)need to detour to Breckenridge, as its on the way
Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:32 pm
Well, Del Rio does have an A26, T28 and T6 at the gate of a
certain AFB . . . . so I may as well see them !!
Will be visiting Cavenagh again for sure . . . not sure if I will
have time to do Breckenridge sadly but it IS on my to do list!
So many planes. . . so little time . . . . so little money . . . !!
While talking Texan museums, does anyone know the identity
of the T33 outside the "Frontiers Of Flight Museum at Dallas
Love Field ? It is unmarked and has defied all my efforts to tie
up ! Is it a former civilian warbird or straight from military stock?

If you stop in Breckenridge, you'll get wall to wall Warbirds and you never know who will drop by.......

But what about the FW-190 in San Antonio??

Man I love Mikes site
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/AirframeDos ... Serial=213Not sure on its provenance:
You can see everything but the T-28 and more if you go to Dyess AFB in Abilene

instead of going that far

.
Don't forget the T-33 in the park in Del Rio

Lynn ......I think he is refering to the FW190 at the Texas Air Museum over at Stinson. Although it is kind of rough it is and will always be a Static, but worth a look non the less.
