This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hello,
is there a list of all the Harvards the Goldilocks operated? I was talking about it with the old man, and we're curious!

Hi Ollie:
I saw a T-6 book that exhaustively covers all the s/ns built! I don't know the name of the book. It's really thick! I think a guy on the T-6/SNJ/Harvard discussion group is the author!

Howdy, Ollie!
The book:
Harvard!
The North American Trainers in Canada
by David C. Fletcher and Doug MacPhail
DCF Flying Books
San Josef, BC
P.O. Box 8589
Dundas, Ontario
L9H 5G1
ISBN 0-9693825-0-2
There are a few pages (142-144, 153) with text in re: Goldilocks.
There are four b&W photos and a color plate on aircraft flown by this group.
Goldilocks Harvards:
According to the book:
"The "Goldilocks" did not have any specific aircraft allotted for their use year round but would usually practice after a working day, much like the "Easy Aces" of a decade earlier, using whatever aircraft were available. When the airshow season grew nearer, the pilots settled on individual favourites which then got "the full treatment."
From the b&w photos, I can read these serials:
216
233
353
367
370
390
403
406
421
433
436
448
449 (color plate)
Hope this helps.
If you want, I can xerox the pages and mail them to you.
Saludos,
Tulio

Thanks guys, I was just looking for the serials to see if one of our two birds had been in the team, but they did not.

Hi fellas: I have just recently become a member and have spent a couple of days going through archival postings - learning a lot as I go!
I saw this thread and realized that the postal address that Tulio (gracias, amigo!) provided way back then has since changed. For an update on the addresses and availability, take a look here:

MacHarvard--
Well, well, well...hang around a forum like this for a while and ANYBODY might turn up.

Great to have you aboard. Many's the time some NA-16 series query crops up on here and I'll think, "Doug would know that"...
Gotta say, though, that MiG picture on the front of the Cuban AF colonel's memoir really is a bit dodgy though.
Also gotta say...ANATIDAE IN AETERNAM!*

MacHarvard,
As a young pilot who just got checked out on the Harvard earlier this year I wanted to say thanks for putting together
Harvard!. Its a great resource and I refer to it often when I want to read tales from the life these birds had in the service, or track down a particular serial.
All the best.
Edward

Hey Ed! Welcome to WIX. I’m sure you will like the place.
This is a shot of Edward having some fun on a Dawn Patrol from Geneseo earlier this year. Can’t wait to see you in the Harvard.
Cheers,
Eric

Eric-
That WWI Dawn Patrol stuff you shot at Geneseo this year is awesome. Just went back and looked at it at your site once again. Makes me want to run out and buy a WWI replica

Hey Eric!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I don't know why it took me so long to find this place. And you know how much I like your work. Anything I'm fortunate enough to fly I'll do my best to get you an opportunity to shoot!
Tim - The WWI stuff is great fun
Cheers

Hey there Ollie,
I think we've been in the same palce a numbe of times, but haven't actually met. We'll have to track each other down next event we get the chance.
I was admiring your FW down at Geneseo though.
Anyways, I'm sure we'll cross paths one of these days and I'm glad you appreciated the three-winged wake up call.
At least I didn't use the louder version with the big Pratt 1340 up front!
Cheers
Edward
