Yak 3 damaged at Paris Airshow

I heard from a friend that is in Paris for the show that a Yak-3 was involved in a fairly serious taxi accident with a Falcon 900 bizjet over the weekend. Anyone have any info or photos?

The Yak looks pretty bad. Those Falcon's are built like brick s-houses. Real shame!

Wow !

That is quite the amount of damage the Yak sustained. Where did the two make impact ? I mean, where did the Yak make contact on the Falcon ? Shame about the damage, but a good "tin bender" can fix that . Sorry for the possible slam on the tin bender thing...but I can say that because I have been one. And have been priveleged to be around some of the best I know and have worked with. Hope the Yak is repairable and will return to the sky again. And also hope no one was injured when this happened. Tin can be replaced....men cannot.

But seeing some of the projects that are taking to the air that might be a walk in the park. BUT it still is going to cost someone and taking out of the air for a while.

if u see the shadow on the ground the prop seems not to be bend, hence:

1)the engine was still (if the prop was spinning it would have impacted with the Falcon for sure)

so:

2)the Mig was probably parked or being towed..

in conclusion:

3)someone's insurance is gonna pay for that

It's one of the new-build Allison-engined Yaks, recently arrived in Germany.

Now that's a bummer for sure! If the prop blade that cannot be seen in the shadow is not bent and the forward wing spar did not get damaged, it might be a fairly simple repair. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

You do have a particular talent for stating the bloody obvious. Yes, it will need a 'careful measure check' And a bit more besides.

By 'white frame' I'm assuming that you mean the engine bearer. Still, I'm glad that you've already sorted out who's going to pay for the damage.

Isn't it amazing how we've had the whole cause and effect of this incident dissected and pontificated on from one solitary photograph!
