This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future
In an effort to get a fresh perspective on some of the inmates at Duxford ~ I made a visit this week with the express intention of using my point and shoot Canon G11 and holding it as high as possible on a mono pod. With the shutter set to 10 second delay ~ its a case of trying hold it as steady as possible ( and hoping ).
The formula that works is 1/60th of a second ~ ISO 200 ~ F whatever I could get. You have to just love built in image stabilisation for helping out
Of course the great thing about visiting "DX" is you never know what might be outside the next hanger
This Buchon is still under restoration to fly and is registered to a wonderfully named company called Magnificent Obsessions Limited
Historic Flyings Buchon is painted as "Yellow 10" and reflects the color scheme it wore during the making of the Battle Of Britain motion picture.
Such a phenomenal place, Duxford....was there two summers in a row back in 2000/01 for the shows, loved every minute of it....certainly one of the Meccas of the warbird world...
