I wonder what the story is behind the Cliff Robertsox monicker on the
cockpit?

I could be very wrong here, Nutz; but I think that last letter really is an "N". The entire stencil seems to be rather crudely done(The letters "L" and "F" are also pretty rough, and the words are uneven).

Take another look and see what you think.

I have on video (VHS) Jerry Billings' entire demo in MK923 at the 1990 Oswego NY Airshow. That was my first time seeing a Spit fly. I can probably try to download it to MPEG format and burn it to DVD.

MK923 was owned by the actor Cliff Robertson for some time. One of his most recent roles was as Uncle Ben to Toby Maguire's Peter Parker in Spiderman (2002). Jerry Billings used to fly Robertson's Spitfire at the Hamilton International Airshow. I can remember seeing him perform at least twice.
