Who is the new Gary A at the CAF?

Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:36 am

I know no one can replace him, but who is now filling the role of Gary at the CAF?

Gary was both the Director of Maintenance for the CAF and the crew chief for the B-24/B-29 Squadron. Jim "Woody" Woodford is the current CAF Director of Maintenance/Quality Assurance in Midland and Dave Miller and Rick Garvis are the crew chiefs for the B-24/B-29 based in Addison. The website for the B-24/B-29 is http://www.rideb29.com/. Hope that helps.

Gary did some incredible work and will be very hard to replace. he was a true craftsman, and to anyone who works with their hands and tools knows what it takes.I cant do it,I can only unbolt and rebolt parts on.

Who is currently doing the "Gary A" type work on "FIFI"? Does anyone have a POC that I can message?

Van, the CAF B-29/B-24 squadron has two full-time mechanics/crew chiefs. Send me a PM with your contact info and any questions and I'll be happy to pass them on.

Ok....who is the new POC then? I need some info from "Fifi"....is there anyone who can crawl into the tail section for me and do some looking? I am looking for some markings that should be located above the pressure door entering the gunners compartment? The markings should be on the frame, just above the pressure door. It should say ASSY # and UNIT #. I would like to know what they say.
