Mr. Bill Stratton of the International Liaison Pilot's Association, and "Liaison Spoken Here" editor, has passed away. I didn't know him for long (maybe 4+ years), but long enough to know that he had a wealth of liaison pilot and aircraft knowledge. He did serve in the military as a pilot during WWII as well.
He was kind to me and let me call him numerous times, shared the L-bird film he'd had put together with me, and allowed us to show it at Cannon Field for the last three years. I fondly remember a luncheon were we met and discussed L-birds and the beginnings of our airfield.
My own personal regret is that I did not take off an afternoon from students to go visit him in the last three weeks when I had an open invitation. If you have opportunities to interview the fading generation - don't pass them up.
