This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Going through tonites TV menu, I see that The Military Channel, starting tonight, will be showing a military based film every Friday night. It looks to be back to back to back every Friday, the host is Lou Diamond Phillips who will have a retired military individaul as co-host (a different one each week?).
Tonights movie is 'The Great Santini' with Robert Duvall, looks like first showing is @ 8 P.M. EDT/5 P.M. PDT

Great film!
It wasn't a hit when it came out, I saw it in a theater in 1980 (it seems to have been released 2-3 years after it was filmed).
Some nice Phantom footage (standing in for F-8s in the book...and no mention of back seaters)...and a short scene with a bicentennial marked C-117/R4D-8.
