Some day glo pictures

Tue May 03, 2011 9:18 pm

Figured I'd post some photos today with some details for a change!

NC-121K of VXN-8 seen here sometime in the mid to late 70's at AMARC boneyard. Supposedly these aircraft were used for UFO hunting!

R4D-5 BuNo 17121 at NAF China Lake. Later designated to C-47H.

AC-47D 45-1077 of the Air Force Communications Service.

C-124C of the Alaskan Air Command. Seen here at AMARC possibly mid 1970's. In conversation with Dana Bell he believes this aircraft is in International orange colors. Since there seems to be a lack of fading in the paint.

(Non day glo scheme)

P2V-6F Serial number 126515. Of FASRON 102 based out of NAS Norfolk. Photo taken by my uncle at an airshow in Willow Grove, PA sometime late 1950's.

Cool pics, especially the Connie and the Globemaster. What I wouldn't give to go back in time and ferry one of those out of there...
