Just spotted this for sale on Barnstormers... looks pretty cool!

A 3/4 scale Bearcat project, needs FWF finished and systems installed. Current engine is a Continental R-670 (core)... looks to me like this thing would be perfect for an M14 radial instead. In the pics, the single row R-670 just makes the nose look too short, plus, it's only 220hp or so. Seems like a 360hp M14 and a wee bit longer nose would be perfect. And check out the upper landing gear attach points, looks like he even incorporated the funky Grumman retract mechanism.

I'd guess Ezell's shop would have this thing done in a week.

Im no aircraft builder but Im very impressed by this project. Looks pretty authentic to that of an original. And yeah a M-14 would do the trick. Now if only you could acquire the one of a kind Hellcat replica thats at Quonset you'd have half of your "slightly scaled down replica" Grumman Cat Flight! But where on earth would you find a simliar down sized replica Wildcat or Tigercat?!

I'm not sure it would be possible to make a Tigercat any skinnier and still have someone be able to fit in it, unless they were built like Megan Fox

The scaling looks pretty good though the rudder and vertical fin don't look rounded enough to me. As for quality of construction there are not enough detail photos to judge it. Sheet metal construction can look great and still be dangerous.
