Looking for a P-51 for may 21-22 event in CT

Tue May 10, 2011 10:16 pm

I thought I might ask around. If anyone one knows of a good formation P-51 and Pilot that might be available for May 21 & 22 in Connecticut, please PM me with their info. We decided to add a P-51, but it seems all the close ones on the east coast are booked.

And Jim Beasley's "Bald Eagle" is out since he's bringing the Spitfire already and that is more important for us. :)
Thanks.
Jerry

I'll have to increase the size of the bread crumb container. That might be the furthest the Spit has traveled and I don't want him to lose his way on the return trip because he ran out of breadcrumbs to follow.

no wonder he gets lost, shouldn't it be a crumpet container on a spit?

Let's at least make it palatable.
I should have said scone crumb container.
Just as long as he doesn't take me with in the canvas bags they designed to strap onto the top of the wing.

Rich, would you rather travel in the "travel pod" that they designed to hang under P-38? wings?

I believe at least that was metal or had some structure along with physical attach points.
The Spit transport bag for carrying someone across to the forward bases on the continent were nothing more than a zip up canvas bag with loops for around the cannon or MG barrel and some kind of a clip for the trailing edge.
I don't think they even served a beverage or a small bag of peanuts. Kinda like today's airline flights.

That would be a definite "E" ticket ride

any luck Jerry? Maybe the NEAM will let the wildcat go on display at the show? I'd be more than happy to help get it down there if it was possible. The weight of the wildcat and trailor, my truck can pull it and i wouldn't ask for any gas money or anything. I'd just like to help you out

Wildcat is out. It needs new tires. they are all torn to shreds.
