I saw a Spit between two Hornets on the news. I think it's SL721.
Can anyone confirm?
Anyways, we don't have a lot of choice for an airworthy Spit near Ottawa!

Yes, It was SL721. Apparently I heard that Potter has checked out one of the NRC pilots who flies the Harvard. He may have been flying today. Potter just bought Hannu's Harvard 20451 and he may start some flying with CHAA as well.

I saw Potter's Spitfire at Trenton on Saturday afternoon as he did a few passes over the museum and landed as they dedicated a memorial to fighter pilots.

Hi Ollie,
SL721 was flying pretty high to get a good look at her, but the Canada Day festivities should provide a much better view. The flight line there is quite close to the runway, so you get a really good view. And the sun is at your back so it is excellent for photography. Much better than in Carp actually. I got some great shots of SL721 a couple of years back in her blue livery.
Anyone know if Potter put on some invasion stripes for this year, as so many others have? I couldn't tell from the flypast on Sunday. CBC did not have a very good camera angle for it.
Speaking of the CBC, Peter Mansbridge should give up on aircraft identification. He bumbled his way through the flypast over Arromanches on Sunday, and seemed to completely forget that the red white and blue smoke of the Red Arrows represent not just the colours of France, but also of the UK and the US. He also completely mis-identified the HMCS Charlottetown. The ship he said was the Charlottetown wasn't even Canadian! Embarrasing moments in otherwise good coverage of the events.

Thanks for the heads up Charles.
I will be at CYRO for July 1st.
I doubt he put D-Day stripes, but maybe he add vinyl added to the plane.
Yeah, reporters are crap as far as IDing anything goes!!

Canada Day is coming up. Maybe I could print off a few before then.
