Wow...criticlpost has a news reel on a flight of Hawaii P-40's! Looks like I can start back up on "building every pearl harbor P-40 model" now that some more aircraft numbers are known!

P.S. The B-17 is a B-17D model. The "D" model had cowl flaps. The "C" model didn't.

Some of the Hawaii based P-40's had white spinners. Not all of them.

Agreed. There is very little know about the markings worn on Oahu based aircraft. I would suggest this reel is worth a lot to a PH historian like me.

I was once told most P-40's had the white spinner. But there were some without it too by Dec 7th. It makes studying and searching for how and why these markings were applied so much harder.

No. Look at the closest a/c when it's in a bank. No .30 cal. barrels protruding from the wings.
