On New Years Day,1970,My family and I went to the Cineramadome theatre in Hollywood ,Ca. and saw Tora,Tora,Tora(I'm pretty sure about my dates but could be wrong) .It's a film you really need to see on the big screen to appreciate and if you have never been to a Cinerama theatre you have no Idea of what you are missing.I have the DVD but its weak in comparison to watching the Zero's,Kates, and Val's launching at dawn, surrounded by the scenes and the 1970 vintage audio was the best and it blew me away.the rest of my family could'nt wait to leave but I was on cloud nine. It's a movie you really need to see on the big screen to appreciate. There is a local movie house that shows old movies on wed nights.its here in Costa Mesa,Ca.. next to the south coast plaza. I'm willing to try to arange a WIX night to see either Tora Tora Tora or Flight of the Phoenix or both 2 different nights.anybody interested? I wanna see both on a big screen

It'd be awesome to see "Triple-T" on the big screen, maybe a double feature with "Battle of Britain!" I've heard that the original theatrical premiere of "Tora!" was something like a half-hour longer than the version that went into wide release (and later TV and home video.) I would love to see the original "director's cut," but I doubt the deleted footage still exists.

When I was in fifth grade, I saw TTT in Paducah, KY with my dad, brother, cousin and uncle. Blew me away even though it wasn't the Cinerama Dome; my schoolmates were all talking about it in class. Saw it again at the Egyptian in Hollywood a few years ago - beautiful restored 35MM print which should still be available for viewing. One thing I wonder is there a chance of seeing a 70MM print?
