P-63E FAH-403

Wed May 25, 2011 7:58 pm

Recently, the P-63E King Cobra FAH-403 s/n 43-11732 at the honduran museum (FMAH) underwent a quick restoration. The aircraft has been sitting at the same spot since the 1960s and has been painted several times in different schemes. The latest one is as it looked back in the 50s when in active service. The painted bombs indicate the missions flown in the conflict against Nicaragua in the mid 50s.
As you can see in the photos,it's missing the top and rear windows.Any ideas where can they be obtained?

You might do what Ed Roth did decades ago when he was building his show rod 'Beatnik Bandit'. After he's built the mold for the bubble top, he went to a pizza place and talked to the owner about using the oven for a few minutes after closing, the ovens stay hot for hours after shutoff, in went the mold and a draped sheet of plexiglas-in a few minutes and a quick clamp down with an outer ring pushed down over the warm plexi- a killer bubble top!
