CHAA Formation Weekend

Sun Jun 06, 2004 8:13 pm

Just got back from two days at the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association. This weekend saw formation training flights and several D-Day flypast. On Saturday alone they did 22 training missions consisting of two, three and four ship formations. CHAA had four of their six Harvards on line as well as Hannu Halminen's 20236 and Tom Siimes 20382. It was a very busy weekend and the volunteer groundcrew did an excellent job at turning the aircraft around fast. I have posted two pages of photos at

As you can tell the D-70 worked amazing and was flawless all weekend.

Excellent photos Eric. It's nice to see some Harvards in RCAF markings for a change. Too many of the Harvards down here in the states are in US markings.

Thanks guys,

I have nothing but praise for the camera. Standing at the edge of the runway with a Harvard coming straight at me the auto-focus had no problem locking on and staying focused. In the air it did great. It was nice to be able to check exposures and make fine adjustments to the settings.

Now the fun is over, I have to start a new job on Monday so I have to focus on it. That is why I posted the photos tonight.

Cheers,

Eric

You should lent it to Richard Allnut when you see him, so he'll be able to telle us what to buy between the Canon one and yours!
