I cataloged the build on this website, for those that are looking to build one. They are not particularly difficult, but they are not cheap and easy either. Here is the build website: http://p51dpedalplane.blogspot.com/

This project just rocked my world... I am almost positive I've seen this out at the museum (or one like it), and I didn't realize it was something I could build myself. As a lifelong modeler, I have a sudden desire to build one of these for my daughter. And of course, it will have to be...
Daddy's Girl.
Thanks so much for sharing this Scott, it's positively inspirational! (BTW, looks like you bought your plywood at the Home Depot on LaSalle in Hampton...)

As it worked out, the following year was the year of the F2G at our SARH Symposium and I had him bring his picture and get it signed by Cook Cleland, Dick Becker, Ron Puckett, and Don Armstrong.
It has wingtip lights, a compass, and a clock for instruments. I purchased the plans from an add in a magazine and modified them to make it wider and for the wings to be removable for long term storage.
A guy up the street kept on calling it a P-47...........
