I'm in Scottsdale for the week. Any 'gotta see' places nearby?

Mike...I didn't :(
I'm sitting in such a gripping conference that I had to ask. Have to have somewhere to escape to when my brain goes numb!!!

Post 9-11, I don't know how restricted access is now, but Deer Valley used to have an interesting assortment of classic and Warbirds.
Same goes for Falcon Field, Mesa, AZ. Nearby Williams-Gate [IIRC] ex-AFB, had the Lufthansa USA training school, and you could also see here and there T-38s, F-15s and one F-104. Please note that this was a long time ago.

If you have time to chase the odd airplane, there is a T-33 displayed in front of a veteran's group, in Apache Junction.

For the touristy thing, go to Tortilla Flat, AZ. You will love it.

Saludos,

Tulio

Tulio,
The Lufthansa training is not at Gateway, it is at Goodyear, I know, I just got home from there after a 10hr shift fixing a F-33A Bonanza.
