According to an announcement on Airshowbuzz, Steve Hinton has dropped out of the Horsemen for the remainder of 2011, and the number of shows has been reduced. Ed Shipley and Dan Friedkin will fly the majority of the remaining scheduled shows as a 2-ship, but the planned appearance with F-86s at Sacramento in September has been dropped altogether.

I am sorry that The Horsemen have had to drop back to a 2-ship for the remainder of the year, I was really looking forward to a 3-ship Sabre formation in Houston. But I respect Steve Hinton and the Team for deciding to pull back from a very intense and challenging 3-ship demo schedule this year.

I know that it is disappointing not to have the Team in Sacramento, but hopefully they will be back there next year with a 3-ship.

I am lookin forward to Ed and Dan in the Sabre 2-ship in Houston in October. I have not seen a 2-ship Sabre routine since Ed Shipley and Dale Snodgrass did the "Dueling Sabres" at NAS Oceana in September 2005. It will be great to see the 2 Sabres fly in a Heritage Flight also.
